I had mine done shortly after Michael Jackson's demise from propofol.

I'm there, getting all prepped up, and they are explaining things to me, and mention the propofol.

I respond, joking, "hey, isn't that what killed Michael Jackson?"

The anesthetist then proceeded to go into "Serious Doctor" mode, "now, sir, rest assured, you are under great care, we will monitor your vitals . . . yada, yada, yada."

Me - "nah, just messing with you."

The doc doing the actual procedure, somebody I knew reasonably well, then reminds me - "hey, this isn't exactly the time to be joking, not when I'm about to do what I'm about to do to you!"

At that point, I shut up.
